abstract introduction: peptic ulcer is a common problem in medicine with serious impacts on the quality of life of patients. it has been shown that helicobacter pylori infection is related with inflammatory responses of gastric mucosa. however, some patients remain asymptomatic. sustained colonization and chronic inflammation increase the risk of gastritis and peptic ulcer. the aim of this study is to investigate the genetic polymorphisms of inflammatory cytokine il-10 and its relationship with peptic ulcer and gastric inflammation. correspondence: mohammad shekari, md, phd. molecular medicine research center, hormozgan university of medical sciences. bandar abbas, iran tel:+98 76 33354939 email: [email protected] methods: in this study, 107 people with symptoms of stomach pain and indigestion referred to a doctor with an indication for endoscopy were selected as the patient group. 107 healthy people without complications such as stomach pain and indigestion were selected as the control group. il-10-592a/c polymorphism was examined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (pcr-rflp). results: no significant difference was found between the patients with peptic ulcer and chronic inflammation and healthy people in the control group in terms of the c allele in the il-10 gene (p=0.99; 0.48-1.80, ci 95%, or 0.93, and p=0.26; 0.57-1.13, ci 95%, or 0.81, respectively). conclusion: the results showed no significant correlation between the inflammatory cytokine il-10 gene polymorphisms and peptic ulcer disease and chronic inflammation.

full textEvaluation of frequency polymorphism Interleukin 1B gene in patients with peptic ulcer and chronic gastritis
Introduction: Helicobacter pylori is the main cause of chronic inflammation and peptic ulcer. More than half of the world population is afflicted with Helicobacter, while only 20% of people show the clinical symptoms of the disease. Genes encoding the cytokines interleukin (IL)-1B play a key role in the inflammatory responses of gastric mucus. This study aims to analyze polymorphism in the IL-1...

Background: Pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines and polymorphisms of their genes have been described to be involved in the pathogenesis of recurrent miscarriage (RM). Objective: To investigate the association between RM and five polymorphisms of cytokine genes, interleukin 10 (IL-10), (-592 A/C, -819 C/T, -1082 A/G), IL-6 (-174 C/G) and IL-17 (-197 G/A) in Iranian women. Method: Po...
full textstudy of il-10, il-18 polymorphisms in the sulfur agent patients with and without periodontitis
background and aims . periodontitis is a multifactorial disease. varieties of microbial and environmental, as well as genetic factors are reported to influence risk for periodontitis. the present study sought to test the putative involvement of il-10 and il-18 gene polymorphism in pre-disposition to periodontitis in patients had exposure to chemical agent as a risk factor for periodontitis deve...
